• Eagerly waiting with perseverance

    Romans 8:24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.   In my study for this Sunday’s message, I was in Romans eight. All at once a phrase jumped out at me that I have not thought of in this way. The phrase is “eagerly wait for it with perseverance”. The context of verses 24 and 25 is all about hope.  Hope is so very important in every area of life. It is trite to say without hope there is no hope, but that’s pretty much the truth. I often tell my doctors, when dealing with pain, that as long as I have hope that a new medicine or a new lifestyle change will help, I can keep going. When I have to think of this pain never going away and never getting any better, I am in danger losing hope. That is not a good place to be.   According to Paul, we are saved in hope.
